引起过敏反应的过敏原各种各样，支架作为人工金属制品，在理论上有引起过敏反应的可能性。
目前，关于支架金属过敏导致发生支架内再狭窄或者支架内血栓的可能性到底有多大，尚不明确。
临床上，支架金属过敏发生率极低，对于没有过敏史的患者，无需考虑支架导致过敏的问题；患者如有严重金属过敏史，在冠脉支架术前可以考虑评估金属过敏的可能性。
